SUMMARY:Sawmill Poetry at Plenty
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a celebration of Mark Harry Creter’s poetry as he reads from his chapbook published earlier this fall. Mark is a beloved theatre professor\, director\, actor\, and friend to many in our community\, and he has listened\, written\, and shared his work with our Sawmill Poetry group of poets for the past four years. \n Praise for Putting Me Back Together: \n “Putting Me Back Together accomplishes the honest self-examination that Henry David Thoreau once advocated\, undertaken here by a speaker—’a Wizard and a Humbug’—who has devoted his life to making and teaching the art of theatre. On the page\, Mark Creter’s lines evoke real speech delivered by an actual person\, broken to fit the cadence of an actor’s voice and breath.” — Erin Hoover \n “While grief is a thread that holds all this together\, there is also humor & joy & even a little bit of Mark Creter’s distinguishing snark & defiance. His New Jersey roots vibrate throughout.” – Andrew Sunfrog \n Creter’s reading will be followed by an open mic. Poetry\, spoken word\, dramatic monologue\, short prose\, and songs are all welcome. Plenty is located at 41 W. Broad St. in Cookeville. Arrive by 6:45 to sign up to perform.\nContact: Erin Hoover\nEmail: sawmillpoetryseries gmail com\nPhone: N/A\nMore Info: https://www.facebook.com/events/2687595928403765/\nLocation:\nPlenty Downtown Bookshop\n41 W.
