For many families, crisis begins with uncertainty. An unexpected pregnancy can bring fear, pressure, and isolation, especially when someone feels they have nowhere to turn. In those moments, the Cookeville Pregnancy Clinic steps in with medical care, education, and steady reassurance.
“Our hope is that no woman walks through this season alone or uninformed,” said Executive Director Shawn Detwiler. “Each day, we have the privilege of coming alongside women who are facing tough situations. We offer an environment of compassion, confidentiality, and life-affirming support. Our staff and volunteers lead with grace and strive to meet our patients where they are without judgment.”

The Cookeville Pregnancy Clinic provides a wide range of free medical and educational services designed to support individuals from the earliest stages of pregnancy through early parenthood.
Services include:
- Free pregnancy testing
- Pregnancy options education
- Ultrasounds
- STI and STD testing and treatment
- Parent education programs
- Material assistance for new parents
For many, the clinic becomes more than a single appointment. It becomes a consistent source of support during a life-changing season.
Supporting Families Beyond the First Visit
“The CPC has a heart to come alongside women facing an unplanned pregnancy,” Detwiler shared. “We are a nonprofit, faith-based medical clinic that offers compassionate care and life-affirming resources to our patients.”
In addition to medical services, the clinic provides ongoing parent education and material assistance programs that equip both mothers and fathers with the tools they need to move forward with confidence.
Detwiler emphasized that the clinic’s impact continues to grow. “Last year, we served in over 4,100 client visits. It is an honor to provide medical care and assistance to vulnerable families in our community during their time of need.”
A Lasting Impact on the Upper Cumberland
While the numbers reflect significant growth, the true impact of the Cookeville Pregnancy Clinic is found in the lives it touches every day.
“The clinic is making an impact in ways that are hard to put into numbers,” Detwiler said. “We consider it a privilege to champion new parents and cheer them on with support as they begin their parenthood journey.”
In a time that can feel overwhelming, the clinic offers something simple but powerful: a place where women and families are seen, supported, and never alone.
