Hip Cookeville presents: EMI SUNSHINE and SAM HATMAKER in concert at CPAC

EMISUNSHINE
Rolling Stone once named EmiSunshine among “10 new country artists you need to know,” but her talent goes far beyond the bounds of country music. Hailing from East Tennessee, EmiSunshine blends Americana, Bluegrass, Blues, and Jazz into a captivating sound all her own—rooted in tradition yet refreshingly original.
A gifted singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, EmiSunshine has been commanding national attention since the age of nine. Now 20, she continues to wow audiences with her powerhouse vocals and expert ukulele and guitar work. She’s been featured on Today, NBC’s Little Big Shots, Pickler & Ben, Song of the Mountains, WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour, the Grand Ole Opry, and even appeared as a contestant on American Idol.
In 2018, Emi was spotlighted in the Grammy-nominated Elvis Presley documentary The King, contributing two original songs: “Johnny, June and Jesus” and “Danny Ray.” Her songwriting talent earned her the prestigious ASCAP Foundation Desmond Child Anthem Award in 2019, and in 2023, she was named Independent Entertainer of the Year by the YEP Awards.
With 14 self-released albums and collaborations with other notable artists, EmiSunshine continues to evolve as one of the most exciting young voices in American roots music. Sam Hatmaker is an award-winning singer-songwriter known for honest storytelling, emotive vocals, and songs that feel lived-in rather than written for show. Rooted in classic country sensibilities with a modern, reflective edge, Hatmaker’s music leans into real moments — love, loss, small-town observations, and the quiet weight of personal growth.
Her latest album, Trailer Park Traitor, further establishes Hatmaker as a fearless storyteller, blending raw lyricism with memorable melodies and an unapologetically authentic point of view.
